Character Analysis

Touching spirit bear

In the book “Touching Spirit Bear” the main  character is Cole. Cole is a very disrespectful child and has no manners nor respect for anyone including his own mom and dad. When he goes around school showing off that he robbed a shop one of the high school kids hears him, and goes snitches on him. Cole find’s out the high scholar snitched on him. As soon as e see’s him he start’s beating him. Cole get’s in huge trouble and has to go to jail for the first time for one full year. That’s when Cole’s world turns upside down.

Cole’s parents tried to get Cole out of jail, so they thought they could just pay off money and get him out. This time it didn’t work. He officially had to be in jail for 1 year. Cole just wasn’t sure  how could make it in jail that long. Throughout the book a sweet helper goes visit’s Cole named Garvery. Garvery is very nice to Cole and very patient towards Cole.

Garvery mentions something about “Circle” as he explains what you do and for how long you need to do it for, Cole get’s very interested in it. He’d rather much do the “circle thingy”than be stuck in jail for 1 whole year. They accept him and let him do “the circle thingy”.

Once he gets there Cole’s anger and everything that had happened in his past and that he’s going trough now. He let’s his anger on his supplies to survive at the Island. He now has no food no shelter no nothing. As he takes a walk after he burns down his supplies he find’s this very un common bear that Garvery had mentioned to him before called a “touching spirit bear”

He get’s closer and closer to him as he does Cole try’s to hurt him but that doesn’t work, the bear fight’s back. Cole looses next thing you know, he’s in the hospital. He’s there for about 1 month. He get’s permanent damages in his body. But he refuses, he wants to go back to the Island. Something about the bear that made him realize his attitude towards everyone that need’s to change so it does. He was no longer the bad kid.
