The Unforgettable Summer

The Unforgettable Summer

Author’s Note: I wrote this for my District Writing Assessment.
Many kids and adults don’t experience going through a divorce. In the end most divorced couples end up loving someone else. Divorce is very difficult for adults and especially children. Ronnie, the main character in this book, “The Last Song” by Nicholas Sparks, doesn’t believe in love. So Ronnie doesn’t love her dad after she believes he caused the divorce. “The Last Song” is an eye opening experience. Many people can learn lots of things from this book; you can learn the meaning of love, to never judge someone, and in the end the meaning of the title.
First you could learn to never judge people by whom they associate with, or by how they dress and speak. You can learn that because Ronnie, the main character in the story, judged Will. Will was a character who accidentally spilled soda on Ronnie at a volleyball game. Ronnie was mad and judged Will because she thought he thought he was to cool. Ronnie also judged her dad because she thought that he was going to be boring and not want to do anything with her. She was wrong about both guys. Ronnie ended up loving Will and she liked hanging out with her dad. Ronnie loved them both in the end.
When you love someone you will do anything for that person and that is also learned from this book. Ronnie ended up forgiving Will and her father. Ronnie had to leave New York to go to South Carolina to visit her dad and her dad eventually died of cancer. Her father died right in front of her.  After the funeral Will said he didn’t want to be with Ronnie and didn’t say good-bye to her before she left to go back home to New York. About a year later while Ronnie changed her life around and went back to school, Will came back and said that he loved her. Will also said he was stupid to let her leave and not say a good-bye. This time he was going to stay and go to college in New York with Ronnie.
This book means many things to me but the most important thing is the title. The Last Song it  means more than just love. It means it will be the last time Ronnie will hear, see, talk to and most importantly hear her dad’s music on the piano. When Ronnie’s dad died that was “the last song” she ever heard him play. When he died she changed her life around and then started to play music again on the piano. This was her way to remember her dad.
This book isn’t just an intense love story, but it is an intense, real life story that happens to many people. It is all worth living for, in the end everyone is happy. This book can and will teach you  what happens to many families. This book will even help you get through your own personal situation. This book will inspire you and put a smile in your heart.

Save Me , Save Me Not

Save Me, Save Me Not

Imagine coming back to your home town, and waiting at the airport for your old favorite neighbors.  As you wait for someone that looks familiar, to approach you, you look around and wonder things to yourself. In the book " save me not" by Chelsea Baron, the main character is Marilyn Adams. And while waiting for someone at the airport she thinks to herself " sometimes you can't stay silent forever, and other times it’s the only thing to do."

Five years ago Chelsea was in this very airport leaving with her family, but this time she is by herself waiting for someone. While she is standing there she starts to remember why she is actually here. At the age of twelve her brother has raped her many times and she even witnessed her brother killing their parents. Sadly she had nowhere to go so she moved back to her old town and is moving with her old neighbors, the Huntley's.Getting out of her daydream she notices a familiar face approach her. She is face to face with Jacob Huntley .

Jacob Huntley was just one of the eight kids from the family. He also happened to be the same age as Chelsea. When he approached her, he gave her a hug and asked if she needed help with her bags, but ever since that event taking place in Chelsea's life she doesn't like to talk. She does not talk to anyone all she does it stare at them. Eventually they end up at his house, and where she will be living.

While she walked into the house, she started to get all this childhood memories back. Everyone from the family greeted her and welcomed her to their home. Some of the kids were weird about and others felt bad. But Jacob was always there for her, and no matter what his goal is to make her talk again. He does that by recreating the old memories like camping in the backyard, and taking her to her old restaurant.  He's not going to give up, until she starts to talk again.

This story can really show  how someone so innocent can have such a horrible thing happen to them and change their life forever. Will Marilyn ever break out of this and talk and be her old self again?

"He" Is Back

“He” Is back

Author’s Note : He left me, he promised me he was going to call me every day to see how I was doing. But I guess everything to him was a lie. My best friend was not coming back.

Ever have that one special someone that promises you he will never leave you? But as much as you know it. Promises are never really kept. Like in the book “My Best Friend Is Back” written by Brittany Leigh.

[Bailey’s POV]
As I was walking down to my first hour class, I felt so weird and out of place. I had nobody to talk to. I was still trying to get the fact trough my mind that he was gone, and probably never coming back. A flashback came to me. The same exact words he had told me, where the same ones that my father had told me. Ever since today my father hasn’t came back.

I finally realized he was never coming back. That’s when it hit. I had to make a change for myself. Make friends and change myself a little. By making a change I joined the cheer squad, started hanging with more people and I even ended up getting myself a boyfriend named Cam.

Cam is captain of the Football team, he is one good looking boyfriend. I’m glad were together he’s been the one that has been there for me ever since he left. Some nights I still go to bed thinking about him. But as soon as I get a text or call from cam. My thoughts brush away trough my head.

I had just came back from school. As I was heading up to my room my mother stopped me. She said she had something important to tell me. Her face expression was full of excitement. What she had just told me had my face pale and my mouth open wide. My mother had just told me he was coming back. Aiden was coming back! I was shocked.

I'm Alone

I’m Alone

In the book ‘Forever & Always His’ written by Alicia Marbles, an extreme thing happens that changes the relationship between Everet, the male main character, and  Riley, the female main character. Something huge happens that causes this change. It all happened one Tuesday morning when Riley had been having a bad day. She called Everett to see if he could go out to lunch with her because she needed some support, to  vent to. Everett had already made plans with his mother for lunch but Everett did not care, his #1 goal was to be there for Riley through everything and anything. So he ditched lunch with his mother to go to a Café with Riley. While Riley was venting to Everet , all of a sudden he got a phone call. That tarred him apart from inside and out.

Riley never could forget that day, the day where Evert’s mother had died in a car crash. Ever since that day Riley’s world felt like it was all crumbling down. She couldn’t walk through the bright red and black hallways heading to her 2nd period without Everet making rude comments about her to his friends. Their relationship hadn’t been the same ever since the Crash. Honestly she didn’t even know what got into him. But the thing is, Everet thought it was all Riley’s fault. What Everet didn’t know Is that it was his OWN girlfriend who had killed his mother.

The resolution to this Essay is that Evert started talking to Riley again little by little. They started talking a little more. Hanging out a little more. Without no doubt Evert started realizing he never lost his love for Riley, it was just hiding somewhere deep in his heart. Riley on the other side , never really got over him. She still felt the way she had been feeling for about 2 years now.

Golden Rush

Golden Rush

On January 24th 1848, I was on our family’s carriage. Down California with my husband and my 2 baby twins. We overheard anther family heading the direction we were  talking about how James W. Marshall had found gold at Sutter’s Mill in Coloma, California. At that moment me and my husband stared straight at each other’s eyes at the very same time. We knew that moment we had to head to that direction and get digging for gold.

As we were walking to Sutter’s Mill my husband and I were talking about how many of OUR family and friends where coming to California all the way from U.S. This was a very big risk, not just for our other families. But for mine and my husbands. Over 3000 people had been on there way to California for the dig of gold.

We arrived at Northern California. My husband and I just thought it would be for the best. Lila & Lilly (2 Baby Twins) were very sick. We couldn’t keep going on the road. Many other families had already been here settled maybe we could get some help for  Lila & Lilly I thought.

Our family ended up staying at Northern California. Everyone that had stayed there with us made a plan. News where that were we were at gold was hitting. So we all agreed we would share the goal based on your condition & how many hours you spent digging for gold.

The It

The It

In the book A lost boy, it is written by Dave Pelzer by his point of view. From David’s perspective, everyone doesn’t understand him. He wishes someone would just understand him for once. The littlest things people do for him, he’s very thankful for. David hates his mother with a burning passion.

One way that David’s point of view influence’s the readers interpretation is his mother. She is very abusive towards David, she has put him through a lot. To her David is known as in “It”
